Window cleaning is the most visible exterior service we offer. The result is immediate, dramatic, and stays clean for months. Most Brisbane homes have not had the exterior windows properly cleaned in years, and the difference between standard hose-and-squeegee cleaning and a proper deionised pure-water rinse is the difference between streaks and zero spotting. We offer window cleaning as an add-on to any house wash or driveway clean, and as a standalone service for properties that just want the windows done. Single-storey and multi-storey both handled.

Why deionised pure water matters

Standard tap water contains dissolved minerals (calcium, magnesium, salts) that deposit on glass as the water dries. That is the source of the white spotting and streaking you see when a window is washed and air-dried. Deionised pure water has had those minerals removed through a resin filter, so when it dries it leaves zero residue. The cleaning itself uses water and a soft brush; the final rinse uses the pure water, and the glass dries to a streak-free, spot-free finish without needing to be wiped. The result lasts longer than squeegee cleaning because there is no residue for new grime to bond to.

Water-fed pole vs traditional squeegee

For ground-floor windows, traditional squeegee work delivers a great finish and is what most contractors use. For upper-storey windows, a water-fed pole system reaches up to two storeys without ladders. The pole has a soft brush head and a built-in deionised water feed; the operator works from the ground while the brush and rinse handle the glass and frames. We use the pole system on most multi-storey jobs because it is faster and safer than ladder work. Skylights and very high windows that the pole cannot reach safely we handle by ladder with a harness; properties where the pole cannot reach safely we are upfront about and quote with a height surcharge.

What we clean, and what we exclude

Exterior glass, window frames (Colorbond, aluminium, painted timber), and external window sills are all included. Internal windows we do not clean by default but can include on request, with pricing typically the same per pane. We exclude windows where the seal is failing (visible misting between double-glazed panes), windows where the frame is rotting (timber sash windows in poor condition), and louvre windows where the lever mechanism is broken. We will tell you upfront if we identify any of these during the walk-around. Stained glass and leadlight windows get the gentlest possible technique and we do not pressure-wash them; we hand-clean with a soft brush.

Our window cleaning process

Step one: walk the property to count windows, identify access points, and flag any windows that need special attention or exclusion. Step two: pre-wet frames and surrounding render or weatherboard so the cleaning runoff does not stain unwashed surfaces. Step three: brush each window with the pure-water-fed brush, working frame-to-frame to avoid missing edges. Step four: rinse each window with pure water in vertical strokes so the runoff is clean. Step five: walk the result with you and check for any missed spots. Step six: send photos.

Pricing: standalone vs add-on

Window cleaning as an add-on to a house wash runs $80 to $200 depending on number of windows. Most single-storey Brisbane homes with 12-20 windows sit at $100 to $150 as an add-on. Standalone window cleaning runs $150 to $350 because the setup and travel time is not shared with another service. Larger homes with 25+ windows or multi-storey access can run $250 to $500. We quote a fixed figure including all visible exterior windows; if you want internal windows or feature windows added, we will adjust the quote before starting.

How often to book window cleaning

Most Brisbane homes benefit from window cleaning every 6 to 12 months. Bayside suburbs (Wynnum, Manly, Redland Bay) want every 6 months because salt accelerates the mineral deposition. Inland homes with light dust exposure can stretch to 12 months. Most customers add window cleaning to their annual house wash, which is convenient because both services happen in the same visit and the price is bundled.

Frequently asked questions

Will the windows really stay streak-free?

Yes. The deionised pure-water rinse leaves zero mineral residue, so when the glass dries it dries clean. The streaks and spotting people are used to come from tap water deposits. Once those are removed from the equation, the glass dries spotless.

Do you clean inside windows too?

Not by default. Exterior only is what most customers want. We can include interior windows on request at roughly the same per-pane rate. Interior windows are normally less dirty than exteriors so the cost difference is small.

Can you reach my upper-storey windows without a ladder?

Yes, in most cases. Our water-fed pole reaches up to two full storeys. For very high windows, skylights, or atria where the pole cannot reach safely, we use ladders with a harness. We will let you know during the quote if there is any window we cannot reach.

How long does the result last?

Pure-water cleaning lasts longer than squeegee cleaning because there is no mineral residue for new grime to bond to. Most Brisbane homes need re-cleaning every 6 to 12 months. Bayside suburbs typically want every 6 months because of salt.

Do you clean window screens too?

Window screens get a rinse during the clean to remove loose dust. For a deep screen clean we remove them and wash separately. This is an add-on we can include on request, typically $5 to $10 per screen depending on size and condition.
